David Keeports
David Keeports - obituary
David Keeports passed away in December 2018 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Dave had a long career as a physics professor at Mills College in Oakland, California. He was greatly admired by his students, who described him as "brilliant and devoted", having "a contagious passion for the subject", "continually preparing us for success", and adding "In a school like Mills, where literally every professor is engaging and outstanding, we bet it would be incredibly difficult to find a professor whose care competes with his."
Dave was a very active member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, and regularly attended its national meetings where he presented many contributed papers, primarily dealing with the physics of sound. He wrote and refereed numerous articles for The Physics Teacher, and served three terms as a member of the journal’s editorial board.
He left us much too soon and will be greatly missed.
